Odin Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026 (optional Odin account, sync between devices, website)

The short version

Odin keeps your plans, tasks, notes and calendar events on your device. Odin has no analytics, no tracking and no ads, and never sells or shares your data. Two things can leave your device, and only if you choose them: your plan, if you sign in to an Odin account to use it on more than one device or on the website; and the information for a paid AI feature (Odin Pro, Pro+ or Max), if you have allowed AI features. Your calendar events are never uploaded.

Data stored on your device

Your classes or projects, tasks, tests and deadlines, activities, sessions, notes, settings and first name are stored on your iPhone, iPad or Mac (and in Odin's widget on the same device). Without an Odin account, they stay only there. Reminders are scheduled locally on the device and are not sent through any server.

Odin account and sync (optional)

You can use Odin without an account. If you sign in (with Google or with a link sent to your email; on Apple devices also with Apple), Odin keeps a copy of your plan in your own account so the same plan appears on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and on the Odin website (odinplanner.app/app).

What is stored in your account: your first name; your classes, units and topics; tests, assignments and to-dos with their dates and notes; activities and busy times you entered; your notes; your planned study sessions and which ones you finished (and how long they took, if you used the focus timer); your study settings and school breaks; and, if you use School sync, the grades, study topics and links to class materials it found. From your sign-in we keep your account ID and email address, and from Google your name and profile picture.

What is never stored in your account: your calendar events (from this device, Google, Outlook or calendar links), your calendar sign-ins, your school password, and anything you share to Odin that you haven't added to your plan. Because calendar events stay on your device, the website plans without them; your plan is updated with them again the next time you open the app.

Where and who can see it: your account data is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), Odin's hosting provider, which processes it only to run the service. Access rules let only you, when signed in, read or change your data. Odin does not look at it, sell it, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The website stores a copy of your plan in your browser so it works offline; signing out of the website removes your access to it.

Subscriptions and the website: if you subscribe in the app and are signed in, Odin's server keeps Apple's signed proof of your purchase with your account, so the AI features you pay for also work on the website. It is deleted with your account.

Deleting it: Profile › Delete my account (in the app or on the website) permanently deletes your account and everything stored in it straight away. You can also email us to ask for deletion.

Your calendars

If you connect a calendar, Odin reads your events (title, start and end time, and whether you're shown as busy) for two things only: to work out when you're free, so it never plans over an event, and to spot tests and deadlines you can add to your plan. Access is read-only. Odin never creates, changes or deletes events.

Odin's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Things you share to Odin

You can share an email, web page, screenshot or PDF to Odin from the iPhone share sheet. Odin reads the text in it on your phone (including text in images, using Apple's on-device text recognition) to suggest dated items for you to add. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose the Pro+ AI import for that item.

School sync (Odin Pro+ and Max)

If you use School sync, you open your school's website (for example Schoology, Canvas, Google Classroom or AP Classroom) inside Odin and sign in yourself. School sync only opens school websites and the sign-in services they use. Your password goes directly to your school; Odin never reads, stores or sends it, and never types into any field.

While syncing, Odin reads the text of each school page you are signed in to, including assignments, due dates, study guides and grades, and sends it to Odin's server, which forwards it to Claude to find your deadlines, grades and study topics. Odin only reads: it never submits, posts, deletes or changes anything on the school site. Page text is not stored on Odin's server. What Odin finds (your assignments, grades, topics and links to your class materials) is stored on your device, and in your Odin account only if you have signed in to one. You can stop a sync at any time, and Delete all data removes it.

AI features (Odin Pro, Pro+ and Max)

If you subscribe to a paid plan and allow AI features, Odin sends the information needed for each request to Odin's server, which forwards it to Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic:

Your name, email address, contacts, location and calendar sign-in details are never sent. Anthropic processes this data only to answer the request, under its commercial terms, and does not use it to train its models. Odin's server does not store the content of your requests.

To check your subscription, the app sends Apple's signed proof of purchase with each AI request. The server verifies it with Apple and keeps daily request counts and monthly AI usage (request count and cost) per subscription, deleted after at most 40 days, to enforce fair-use limits. You can turn AI features off at any time in Profile.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Odin never sees your payment details.

Deleting your data

Use Profile › Delete all data, or delete the app. This removes everything stored on the device, including connected calendar sign-ins and copied events. If you have an Odin account, use Profile › Delete my account to delete it and everything in it. Request counts on the server expire automatically within 40 days.

Children

Odin is a planner for students and adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. Significant changes are also mentioned in the app's release notes.
